Titerenet summons this first video festival with the aim of taking advantage of means to our reach to promote and to spread the puppets theather in all its variants.

We have thought that it could be a good idea, and enjoyable, to encourage puppeteers of the world to come together in order to show what puppets can do.

We have chosen YouTube to spread the videos.

If you don’t know anything about “viral marketing” take a look to the wikipedia.

Rules (in fact, only one)
The participant videos will have to be made with puppets.

We will only accept videos by postal mail until the 31 of January and with a maximum duration of 5 minutes.
If you upload the videos yourself to YouTube, the only limitation is the 10 minutes of duration that it is allowed.

Recommendations for the video

• Try to surprise, to amuse, to move, to make reflect…
• Prepare a short video. Five minutes can do well. Two or three minutes, better.
• A sketch of a show that you already have recorded can be valid as well.
• There is no need of a great video camera. Mobile phone or webcam can do the trick.
• You are pointing to a new kind of audience. Go for them!

You can upload your video now.
As sooner as you do it, the more people that will see it.
You can promote your video as much as you consider necessary. That is what the festival is all about.

Do not forget to tag it and send it to the “titerenet” group so that it participates in the festival.

On Wednesday 28th of February we will make a count with all the videos and will announce the winners.

Once all Christmas celebrations have passed, take your video-camera, your puppets and record your show for the world.

Parece claro que la tecnología y los títeres se están buscando… y se van a encontrar.

La siempre amable Régine me pasa información sobre este proyecto realizado por Younghyun Chung y Jaewook Shin, y que consiste en un teatrillo cuenta cuentos con un par de dispositivos que permiten a dos niños participar físicamente en la historia.

El proyecto está pensado para niños de 4 a 8 años y sus padres o familiares.

Este teatrillo comienza una historia cada 4 minutos, a la que dos niños son invitados a unirse, uno como el Viento del Norte y el otro como el Sol.

Cada niño dispone de un controlador que se activa soplando, y unas luces indican las entradas en la historia del Sol y el Viento del Norte, que sopla que te sopla, intervienen en la historia.

Los componentes tecnológicos del invento:

Dos acelerómetros
Seis servo motores
Un reproductor de mp3
Un micrófono (con el mismo mecanismo que el micrófono interno de la Nintendo DS) para controlar al viento
Y un termómetro para detectar las diferencias de temperatura del aliento y controlar al sol

Una propuesta curiosa, aunque prefiero titiriteros de verdad a historias grabadas.
Y con lo históricamente participativo que es el teatro de marionetas, no está de más hacerse con nuevas ideas -y mecanismos- para hacer participar al público.

Interactive Puppet Theater

Vía ALT1040 me encuentro con Teenar: la guitarra maniquí, una creación del músico y luthier Lou Reimuller, también conocido como Sunset Lou.

El invento es de 1986, y sí, suena.

Menudo espectáculo se podría montar con esto.

Será por la brillantina del sombrero, pero me parece que tiene cierto aire navideño y siniestro al mismo tiempo.
Y también me recuerda en algo a las pinturas de Max Ernst.
